Olive Class Displays
The children have produced incredible work for the displays in the classroom. They are fabulous! 😁
Beautiful Botanicals 🌸🌼
We began our art lessons by creating a tonal slide with: pencils, pastels and watercolours. As a class, we then looked at botanical illustrations - these must be scientifically correct in order to identify what the flower or plant is. We then began to look at botanical art which does not have to be fully ‘correct’ and there is more emphasis on colour. For inspiration, we looked at Georgia O’Keeffe - we used her artwork to inspire our own final pieces.
Topic - Worksop Through the Ages
We are learning about Worksop through the ages in our topic. We have been researching about places in Worksop and have been creating timelines on the key events throughout the years.
Olive class have created many fantastic pieces of work in their topic books. Here is just a few amazing examples.
Have a look at our fantastic artwork based on landmarks in Worksop. We created paint platted backgrounds and used biro pen to draw our landmarks on watercolour.
Science - Here, there and everywhere.
In science we have been learning about adaptations. We have created branching databases to classify animals. In literacy we have written about animals and how they adapt to live in different environments. 🦁🐒🐳
Last half term Olive Class were lucky to have Hannah teach us gymnastics. This half term we are doing ‘Outdoor and adventure’ We have began to look at the 8 points of a compass and direct each other to different places on the school ground.
We have been lucky to have music Matt teach us during half term. We loved learning how to perform body percussion and creating music with the boomwhackers. Olive class are so excited we have started practising Christmas songs 🎅🏼🎄 We have managed to learn ‘Jingle Bells’ on bells with Music Matt.
